“kick the ball! not the ground”

That was the kind of profound advice we were giving each other from the side of the pitch,on Saturday. 4 teams, only one came top. It really felt like the summer had just began. A lot of Family Federation youth came together from our different communities around London, some even came from as far as Birmingham. Thank you to Chigo for organising things so well and keeping us all fit and healthy. Looks like it will be a regular fixture every two weeks this summer. Just been doing a bit of “after work” editing: enjoy the football skills and the slick commentary.

and if you have any comments on the tackles, the goals, the passing the moves, any controversial decisions, etc. Leave some comments below. thanks.

Loved the game – or rather the bit I could see – the camera moved around so quickly by the time I could focus on where the ball was the picture had moved on – probably that’s when the goals were scored and I missed them. But I was really envious! I could feel my spirit looking for my rugby (I mean football) boots and my heart was racing to get in on the action – no I wasn’t having a heart attack, just excited at the thought of playing football again. Anyway, it was great to watch! I don’t think the teams were as good as ours here in Wales (that’s a challenge) but maybe we shall never know. Well done lads – for a few moments I thought I was young again and running around the pitch with you: “pass it here!” “To David!” “Gooooaaaalll!!!!!!” – the sweat, the excitement, being out of breath, scoring the winning goal – ah!!! it’s all coming back to me. Lovely to watch! Thanks!
